The Carlyle on the UES. Usually most of the UES Hotels re pricey. The St.Regis can also be included. As well as Plaza Athenee.

Someone posted The Plaza. FYI, the Plaza was closed over a year ago to start construction for the condos to be sold in the building. What a shame. I used to enjoy afternoon tea with my mother there on special occasions.

The Waldorf Astoria can be expensive at times, but not in the category of Most Expensive. It is owned by Hilton, therefore they sometimes have some good package rates available.

Intercontinential Hotel used to be more expensive and exclusive than the Waldorf. (The Plaza is no longer a hotel, it's being remodeled into condos) It's a 4 1/5 star hotel - as are all the others in the chain.

Probably the Waldorf-Astoria would be my guess. Right in the heart of Manhatten. Very old, regal hotel prices around $350-500 per night (just a regular room then there are suites and tower suites) just go to Waldorfastoria.com
