About a month ago my son's kindergarten teacher resigned.
And so the teachers aid took on the job until they hired a new teacher. January 2nd was her first day. and off the back I disliked her because when I tried introducing myself. She looked me up and down and walked away. The teachers aid noticed that and came up to talk to me and told me how my son was doing in school. ( I look like I'm 17 but I'm not )
The second day after school I tried talking to her again but It was the same thing besides this time she actually said Hi.
I was ready to pull my son out of this class and get him a new teacher but my husband talked me out of it. He told me that we should keep him in there because my son loved the teachers aid.
This week I found out that the new teacher fired the teachers aid and brought in a new one. Well now my son is scared and doesn't want to go to school. He also has a disability so It was hard to even get him in the first place to go to school.

go with ur mommy instinct and pull him out of the class, that teacher sounds like a *****! your son doesn't need to deal with her when he's still so little... plus now he's scared?!?!? PULL HIM OUT!

huh? how can a teacher FIRE a teachers aid? i would keep him in school.. he and you aren't going to like every teacher he has (believe me) my daughter has had a couple teachers i would love to kick in the teeth. but he needs to just give it some time and maybe the new teacher will warm up.. she is probably just nervous about starting new job in middle of school etc

try and organise a meeting after school with the teacher and if that does not work speak directly to the head teacher. it's best to take small steps as then if you get no where dealing with the people concerned directly you always have someone higher to go to!!!

the politics of school should not be a factor to the child . if their is a directed and unjustifiably conflicted with the child from the teacher then it should be addressed with the Bord of the school.

and i would add that none of this be spoke of in front of the child. it is hard enough for you to get him to go now and the more he hears the more reason he will be able to give reasons for not wanting to go.. hope this helps you.

While staying firm in certain areas are important, this is one you have to follow you intuition on. My mother refused to help out when I was mistreated and that only led to me skipping school and refusing to learn anything from that teacher. You should feel comfortable when you are learning otherwise it adds to the stress and could create bigger problems than just not wanting to go to her classroom. Always stand up for your child when it comes to public schools.

Maybe you could see where the other teacher's aide got another job at and if it is in your area see about sending him to that school. Good Luck!
