I'm 6'2" 175 lbs. which i know isnt at all overweight, BUT i have some unwanted fat around my belly and face that id like to get rid of without burning up what muscle i have. ive started running an hour each morning before i eat, 5 -6 days a week. My problem is i dont know how much to eat so that i dont go into "starvation mode" but at the same time not eat too much as to not lose any weight. can anyone give me some advice on how much i should be eating to avoid both of these? Also strenght train 3 times a week for about 20 minutes. i heard this will help me from losing muscle mass. is this true? thankyou

The way it's always been explained to me is that you should be eating 5 times a day (3 meals, 2 snacks). keep the snacks under 200 calories and make sure you have a complete meal: lean protien, fruits and vegetables, and a starch (preferably a whole grain). You should divide you plate into sections: 1/2 is for fruits and vegetables, 1/4 is a starch, and the rest is lean protein. If you do this, you will not only keep your metabolism up, but also stay within that 5 and 6 range on the hunger scale (10 is busting like after Thanksgiving and 1 is starving). You'll operate more efficiently and still lose weight you want to lose. Stay active and drink lots of water.
Good luck.

Just try eatting healthier. You dont nesseserly need to not eat as much. Also, its good to eat every 3 hours instead of having 3 big meals a day. Of course it can be something small not big. Going into a starvation mode makes your body think your going to starve you self so it slowers your motablism that way your body can protect you can store more fat then before.

Eat only when you feel hungry, I've maintained the same weight for the last 5 years. Look into Isagenix, my sister is on the 9 day program she's already seeing results. Judge for yourself

Start taking chromium picolinate. Do some research first but it is a mineral that we often lack in the foods we eat and has the properties of turning fat into muscle.

divide your calorie intake by the # of hours you are awake. and consume "meals" every 2 hours. example 2000 cal a day divided by 16 hrs 125 cal an hour or a 375 cal meal every 3 hrs. or or so.
try that.

If you get hungry, have a snack! Fresh fruit, pretzels, a bagel.. those will keep you from going into fat-storing stravation mode, but they won't pack on the pounds.
