I do not like the 'new' pope. He was in the Hitler Youth.
But, since he is a respected religious figure, he has more to lose by lying than an anonymous person might. So I suppose I would believe him more, initially.

I would definitely believe you more than George W tho

As a kid, Nazinger belonged to the Hitler Youth, even after it was known what the Nazis were doing.

Nazinger wrote the "two tykes and you're out" rule for pedophile priests: they can molest one kid, but not two.

Nazinger was also part of the decision to let Bernard Law hide out in the vatican and evade charges for helping pedophile priests.

What would pope Nazinger do? If the accused was a catholic, he'd help him even if it was a serial killer.

I would never trust pope Nazinger. I would look out the window if the rat fink told me the sky was blue.

Because I have contradictory statements, I would be unable to accept either account of what happened. I don't trust the Pope any more or less than I trust anyone else.

I have met neither of you, so really neither of your words are worth more than the other.

Also, the pope is fairly old and i assume that you are a young person based on the way your question was phrased. Perhaps you'd have better eyesight.

Then again, perhaps not.

Eye witness testimony is the least reliable form of evidence. Doesn't matter if you're the pope or a poet.

I'm not sure. I've neither met the Pope nor you and I haven't gotten to know either one of you. I guess it would depend on my impression of you both when I'd meet you.

Ram, although i am not atheist, even then i dare to reply it...

i will reply you with context of religion..i.e what to do in such conditions if one person is widely respected , well known, or leader of some community or tribe, and other is an ordinary person. i think you want to know this by above example:

so according to religious context... the claim of an ordinary person over a highly respected or highly known person is as valid as the claim of highly respected and highly famous over ordinary persons claim.

e.g

if you say that Mr. A(known leader, famous) slapped me. according to rules of justice, your that complaint is valid and judge will have to believe you, he will have to call Mr A in court for justice, jury will ask for evidence in your support, if you able to prove your case then he will be punished...
..same for Mr A, if he complaint against you, that you slapped him, then jury will not trust him because he is famous or great leader..he will have to provide evidence in his support.. and if able to provide..then only he win case against you..
also according to religion..if Mr A not able to provide enough evidence against you, then its your right.. to sue him for false complaint..and vice versa...

at the end i must say, whether we are believers or non-believers we should adopt justice and hate discrimination..
