Is it some kind of status thing? I don't get it.

In Europe, we just pay cash or directly with our bank cards. And it's not like we carry around hundreds of dollars of cash, we just get it in the bank, at every corner, whenever we need it.

If I'd buy things regular everyday things with my credit card, I'd feel like I have debts. I wait a little and rather pay with the money that I own at this moment.
What is the fun of getting a bill in the end of the month?

Please explain...

this way, you will be able to build credit or "credibility" for yourself.

the right way is to use the card wisely.... then pay it all off and keep doing that as long as you can really afford the things that you buy.

then you get rewarded with good credit and status so that if you need some credibility when buying a home or anything like that, you will be able to do so with people's (banks/sellers) confidence in you. you get a good track record.

yeah, and some people like the lady below me... really depend on credit because they just cannot meet their expenses ssometimes... i have been there myself.

i love the hairstyle on your avatar by the way!

Some peole just cannot live within their means. It can work out well if you have the money, put your groceries etc on the card and then pay it off in full every month. This way you avoid the interest but you still get the airpoints and rewards asscociated with cards. I'm 27 and don't have one. I know that it would be my financial ruin.
