Her mother took the dog to the vet and they said if it continues to bring him back, now they are keeping him for tests and all, but she is so upset and crying i was hoping to give her some comforting feedback or advice. Please help, I hate seeing her upset!!!

Just tell your friend that is the best place for it for now .She should be able to call and even visit it soon.Tell her a prayer wouldn't hurt and God doesn't make mistakes there is a reason.Just be there for her and listen.Good Luck!!!!

No but your friend should've had the brains to get the dog to the vet as soon as he started bafing and not waited so long, that could constitute animal neglect so tell you friend to get the dog to the vet or surrender him to the local SPCA and hope that they still don't press charges, they can and may really do it!

By the way why are YOU on here instead of your friend?!

If the vet decided to send the dog home and then FINALLY decided that it was serious then I suggest that they find another vet.

It is always an emergency situation when a dog vomits more than once in a 24 hour period. Get the dog to the vet ASAP -- could be blockage, or ingestion of something toxic. He should have gone when the dog threw up the second time.

It could be a lot of things. He could have an obstruction or something like that. Also he could have pancreatitis or liver inflammation or kindey problems. The vet will probably run bloodwork first to check the function of the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. If every thing looks good there they may go onto xrays to see if they can see an obstruction. If they do that they will probably give him barium to swallow so they can track the barium through his system to see if it stops anywhere (thus finding an obstruction). It can be really expensive but it is definitely worth it if they can find an obstruction before it starts killing off intestines. If they do find an obstruction depending on where it is and how bad it is they may try and give him an enema to see if it can be forced out. If not they may have to surgically remove it. Hopefully it will be something easy to fix. I wish your friend good luck and I hope it turns out ok.

Absolutely the dog needs to be taken to the vet ASAP. This is a life-or-death situation that can't even wait *hours*.
