I am most of the time an open book. Once in a while I may have other feelings and I choose to keep them to my self.

I try to be an open book. I hope he is too. I don't want to find out years down the line that he's some closet porn addict or something...it would be very hurtful to know your mate has kept something from you on purpose. It's deceitful.

The truth is hard for everyone, it makes us who we are and some secrets are so unpleasant and so sad or scary that they should never be told, the only truth a loved one should ever know is that she is love by someone.
I don't believe a relationship should be based on lies but I also believe that some things shouldn't be told and to just enjoy the moment.

It's like the old Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Don't ask me no questions and I won't tell you no lies" - that my philosophy, don't ask, don't tell and people are stupid if they are 100% open book to anybody about themselves. There is a thing called privacy ya know? If you tell someone everything about yourself then they have it to throw back in your face later on when they get mad at you.

Even though an open book relationship is best, sometimes certain things are best kept unsaid. My grandparents were married for 55 years and I asked my grandmother how did they manage to stay married for so long.. and she said "learn to pick your battles, and ignore the little things, but most importantly..tell him what you think he needs to know and keep the rest to yourself"

I decided to try something new with this relationship~ From the day I met him I have been myself, expressed my thoughts and feelings, told him all about my past, and been completely open and honest with him (even when I thought he'd get mad)! He's been the same way with me. We have NO secrets~ and it's the best and happiest relationship either one of us has ever been in!!

I am always open and completely honest with my fiance, as I assume he is with me. In a healthy relationship no one should feel the need to hide anything.
