The story was retracted. The allegations were unfounded and blown up in the media.

Every country is courious of other countries assets, contracts, intentions, and many having the techologly, will do what ever to ensure their own countries welfare. We have lived in a world of spys for decades , and it will never change. Surveilance methods and devices have greatly improved and will continue to improve. You never know who is listening, watching, tracking, recording and the list can go on and on. I am more than sure that the US have their fair share of this. Think about the movie , "Enemy Of The State". They do have that stuff and more!!!!

Perhaps they had nothing to do with it.
Perhaps they did.
Not quite sure people view Canadians as docile little lambs who wouldn't hurt a fly. They're human too.

I have not heard of such a thing, but many countries have strips in bills to help track big money shipments. These shipments are usually drug related. Hold a $20 or higher US bill & you will see strip that runs up & down. They can be carefully removed but it is time consuming & illegal in US to deface money.
They use radar type machines on large highways to track money. It works to catch drug dealers.

brings back memories of south park...Blame Canada. Seems like more of a distraction than anything that needs to be worried about.
