well u need a reason to go over to someone n chat them up dont u? so they need to be good looking. Specially if its only a lover. I think looks are the first thing that attact a mate, everyone knows that but personality makes u stay with them.

It depends on what you plan on using your lover for. If you want a meaningful long-term relationship, you'll need to be able to stand talking to each other, so personality wins out. But initial attraction is definitely important.

It's funny how people say that personality is what matters and I believe that is true. If you truly love someone for their personality, then looks shouldn't matter.
However a lot of people are going to say personality matters but in reality, they go for the looks. To answer your question, personality is more important in a lover.

They are both very important, because without a mental connection, the relationship is nothing, but without physical attraction, its more like a friendship. However, a good personality is more important because that can spur attraction.

for me personally, personality is the thing of importance although looks probably attracted me to the person but if there is no personality then I just get bored

If you intend to stay with the person, then personality because looks change. If it is a one time fling, then you might as well pick someone you like to look at since you don't intend to get to know them.
