I've heard it is healthy to eat, but every time I try, I get bored with it fast.

Unless you really like oatmeal, it can be kind of oppressive to eat. It's got such a thick texture that it's rather like eating cement. It's helpful to do small portions with extra milk and fruit. You might even try adding some yogurt.

Granola is made from whole-grain oats, so if you're really wanting to do the oat thing and can't manage oatmeal, try a low-fat, low-sugar granola with yogurt and fruit. Granola is even good with ice cream or as part of a trail mix.

Oatmeal is a very simple meal. It's boiled oats. Not much flavor there. If you're going for healthy ways to make it more interesting, add fruits (bananas, strawberries, etc.) and try cinnamon (my personal favorite). You can also try experimenting with other spices on the spice rack. Smell something, see if it smells complimentary to oatmeal, and try it on a little bit. Mix it up. Oatmeal doesn't have to suck.

Me too . oat meal sucks and you would have to eat 3 to 5 servings a day to get the benefits claimed for oatmeal.
Give me grits/eggs sunnyside up/ beacon, toast on wheat at least 4 tiems a week than i might consider cream of wheat, oatmeal , hoecakes the rerst of the week.
I can put away soem hoecakes and honey.

Because oatmeal doesn't have much flavor. Try adding things to it, such as: raisins, brown sugar, milk, butter, fruit, honey, nuts, etc. Maybe not all at once, but it does make it easier to eat. And oatmeal is VERY good for you. It has lots of fiber.

Try sprinkling some cinnamon or allspice before or while you're cooking it. I also like dried fruit; raisins, currents or cranberries. I've tried bananas too. Or, if you want it a little sweet and aren't afraid of the calories, try honey or maple syrup.

Play around with the water (or milk) to oatmeal ratio to find a consistancy you like. Add things like honey, dried fruits, cinamon, splenda, etc to it to make it taste better.

Are you eating it plain? If so, I can understand why you get bored with it. Maybe try mixing in things like honey, dark chocolate, or fresh or dried fruits like bananas, berries, peaches, and so on.
