The Dell Service number is usually on the bottom of Laptops, and on the side or back of Desktops. If this is a USED computer, maybe the previous owner removed that tag.
But you won't need that Dell Service number for installing Word Perfect. Look for the disk. If this is just a trial version, then you will have to BUY it.
Consider using Open Office. This is more like Microsoft Office. Visit http://www.openoffice.org
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Why do you need the service number for Dell in order to install WordPerfect? Do you have a CD for WordPerfect? It has to be purchased, and you don't get it from Dell. You can sometimes find WP on sale at Buy.com, or SoftwareOutlet.com, or StarCDRom.com.

The others are right: you dont need your service tag to install Word Perfect. And OpenOffice is a good product.
However, if you still need your service tag, Dell has an online system profiler that will find it for you:

if you have the original software that came with your dell you can probably reinstall it.
Make sure to back up all of your stuff first though.
