Yes. The taxis in NYC geneally run on a metered fare rate. If you are taking a cab from LaGuardia you will pay the metered rate. On the other hand, if you are traveling from JFK into Manhattan, the New York City Taxi and Limosine Commission has set a "flat rate" of $45.

It will. there are many taxis willing to receive tourists so they can make lots of money in New York. Trust me, you won't have any problems flagging a cab as long as you stay in Manhattan. Now Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, you will need to call a taxi service over the phone and wait for one to pick you up. Also check with the hotel cause they may have an airport shuttle they will take you back and forth.

Yes. It would be wise to have the street address of your hotel as well as the hotel name. Several hotels have more than one location in Manhattan, so you may be asked for the address or street name/intersection.

For example, if you ask to be taken to the Double Tree in Manhattan, the driver will ask which one.

Yes - but you should check to see if your hotel offers shuttle service - it will be less costly because you share the fare with others and you will be sure to get to the right hotel since some have similar names. Good Luck!

you can take a taxi if you like, but if you would like to save some money, where you pick up your baggage there is a transportation booth and you can take something like supershuttle. They take you to your hotel door. I paid 15 dollars from la guardia to mid town.
