I like Canon cameras, but you might need to spend a little more for one.

None. I'd suggest spending closer to $200.
A fuji F20 for $165 is an excellent choice.
There are others, but once you get under $200, you need to choose wisely, as it becomes a dumping ground for older, less capable designs.

For $100 you get lower resolution, mediocre image quality, poorer low light performance, smaller screens, slower startup and focus, and short battery life.

Try to stay with a company you've at least heard of. An entry level Kodak or Fuji would be better than an HP or Samsung. You might find a decent one on sale, or maybe a refurbished or discontinued model for less on eBay.

Take a look at this one. It should go for less than $100!!!
I've had one for a few years and the image quality is great.

I always use Kodak. c533 or something around 4 megpix.
after all kodak invented the camera. I use this as my take any where camera it's great.and works well
