Each country is different. Other than the obvious, a Passport, you should check with the Consulate of the country you wish to travel to about such things as Visas and Health Vaccinations.

It depends on the country and why you are going. You will need at least a passport. Its possible that you might need a visa. Wherever you go you will need a passport to return to the United States (if you from the United States)
