Sunscreens can cause just as much damage as protection. Some research say that sunscreen over SPF30 doesn't really protect you any more than SPF30. To prevent damage from the sun, avoid the sun. You can do this by spending less time under the sun. You should also wear protective clothing such as long-sleeve, long pants, hats with wide brim (protects your neck & face) and umbrellas.

Of course sun screen is the number one thing to do. Make sure it is at least a 30. Wearing a large brimmed hat will shade your face, and ears. Wearing light clothing to keep cool, but should have long sleeves, and pants so no skin is exposed. Hope this helps.
