What's the maximum amount of Ritalin you can take each day (in mg)? How much time is best to put between each amount you take? Am I allowed to take it about 6 months long?

It's the only thing that makes me feel better. I've tried all kinds of antidepressants and they don't work. I've been to numerous psychologists and other people but it hasn't done a thing. I know the causes of my problems, it lies in my environment. I've tried everything to make my life more bearable with no result. It's too late to go to another school now and it will take at least another 6-10 months before my life can finally improve. It's either this, drugs or suicide.

I beg of you to answer my question and don't try to support me or tell me there are other ways to solve my problems. I'm doing this either way and I wouldn't want an overdose or my health destroyed (though I'd take the risk). I don't mind if it's bad for me (like cigarets or cocain once a week), but I don't want it to be really dangerous.

Hey, I'm really sorry you are going through this. it has to be tough. My daughter had these problems and she died four years ago from intoxcity from the drugs. She was on four powerful antidepressants and died with cocaine in her hand as she fell to her kitchen floor into a coma and slowly died over 14 hours . We will never know what she went through. Her autospty showed she had a swollen brain. To make a long story short, please see a doctor and get a full blood workup done, maybe a cat scan. Sometimes brain tumors and all sorts of minor health problems can turn make us depressed. Life has got to be hard when it you feel alone with no one to help, but remember there may be reasons that this is happening that needs attention. Sure it could be enviroment, but does your State allow Homeschool? You can do all your work in your own enviroment. You can do it and not be bothered by others. Also, please research ritalin and diet pespi (sacerin?) I believe it is an ingrediant that is not good for those with depression and or using certain depressants. Using these antidepressants can alter you body's naturall serotin levels, however low, depleteing normall feel good chemicals when they are suppose to work to help you. Messing with your brain is never a good idea, because the let down will be even more severe depression. Drink water, research this my friend on the internet..plug in ritalin and serotin, ritalin and neurotransmittires, ritalin and food adverse reactions, and look up Homeschooling in your State, and last but not least find a doctor to test your blood and just do a complete physical.

It's me. No, I don't have a street source. But if I confess to the doctor he should prescribe it to me. He's familiar with my problems.

I have taken Ritalin 7 months ago for the exams. I was already depressed at the time, but convinced that my life would go better. I just took it again today. I totally forgot how I felt. What would become the worst day of my life (came out of the closet as bi today), has been the most fantastic one in 7 months. I realise that this will be the best way to get myself through this aweful period. I'm graduating this year, will be alone with very little social contact in the 3 months afterwards and then my life can finally improve. I've got a strong wish to die right now, but with Ritalin that feeling goes away.

@last poster: are you Jonathan Wright or is it a friend or someone you've read about? That could be very helpful indeed. Thank you so much.

Well, it sounds like you've got a street source for Ritalin. I would talk with a psychologist and say that when you take Ritalin you "feel better." This way he can get it prescribed for you in a dose that is safe and you will have a consistent and legal supply.

The fact that you "feel better" suggests that the antidepressants are not the med for you. You may have been mis-diagnosed. Ritalin only "works" for those with ADD or ADHD.

Jonathan Wright (of Tahoma Clinic -qv) recommends low dose Lithium for everyone. (he has been taking it for over 20 years). You are maybe aware of high dose Lithium being used for cases of "bipolar". He says that Lithium, being the lightest metal, is in very short supply in our environment, and food, and that low dose supplementation is often helpful. I know this doesn't answer your question. I don't know the answer to your question. I hope this little piece of information is helpful. (sorry your situation is so difficult)
