What I'm worried about is Myspace. I posted some really cool photos on there and my profile is set to private. Is this enough?

I know from stalker-experience that legally anything you put on-line is there for anyone to take. Marking it private is not enough.

The idea for water-marking (for internet purposes, as previous entries said, set some outline copy over it that says something like "test copy" or "contact to order a print") is really good and it's what 2 of my professional photographer friends who operate their own businesses. do.

Low res. probably won't do you since it sounds like you want people to see your work and not be able to take it. If you're serious about the shots, you don't want them seeing your work at low-res.

There are ways to lock images from being dragged and dropped but nothing that stops people from taking a screen shot. So, the water-mark is your best bet.

If you don't want them copied, then do not put them on the internet.

If you can see it on the screen then it can be copied.

Your limiting your myspace access will help. However, anyone who has access can potentially get the pictures. Depends on how much you trust these people.

well, it's enough to stop people *you don't know* from stealing them, but anyone who has rights to wiew the profile can still save them. Have you considered watermarking them? put a semi-transparent name or brand across a corner of the image then people can't pass the work off as their own.
