First of all, why buy salads readymade? Why not guy some raw ingredients and make your own?

Second of all, fast food is only cheaper in monetary terms. While you're saving your pennies, long term you will need more hospital care for when you're old and obese and trying to break those bad habits you got yourself into when you were young.

It doesn't if you shop wisely, buy fruit and veg that are in season they're always the cheapest, root veg like carrots cost very little but make a mince dish or stew go much further, so you use less meat. Buy raw ingredients to make your own meals rather than pre packaged and ready meals they actually cost a lot more. Another ingredient to pad out meals and fill you up while keeping cost and calories/fat down is beans bought in their dried form, e.g. haricot, butter, borlotti, cannelini. add to stews, soups and casseroles.

Its not any dearer . fast food i think is dearer and its so full of fat and salt it cant be doing your body any good
Fruit and veg don't have to cost the earth
Salad stuff costs under a £1 everyone has potatoes in the house have jackets instead of chips
Always have frozen veg in the freezer then when you want something quick its there
It just takes a bit of time to plan things

I think it is a government conspiracy. But for real check out all the groceries store sale papers, everything in it is really unhealthy, that is on sale anyway. I shop organic and pay more but you do eat better and you eat less. It is more satisfying and more full feeling.

Because specialty foods cost more since they are SPECIAL. Also, this county is diet crazy and the retailers know people will pay more for healthy products so, they charge more.

Not really sure why this is but it is true. I can go shopping for my boyfriend and his brother who lives with us and spend 100.00 but if I buy the stuff that I need to get in order to lose weight it cost me a min of 150.00 and that is on the low end.

Yes, but your health and doctors will thank you when you are not coming to see them and paying more for your insurance because of other chronic diseases. So spend the money now and you will benefit in the long run!
