I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in August, and finishing up my treatments now, so i can hopefully help answer your question.
Btw, I am 30 years old, male, and non-smoker, completed 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 35 rounds of IMRT radiation to the head and neck.
Unfortunately, I do not know what ONE symptom you had so I can only guess. You symptoms generally would get worse with time, BUT there are situations where symptoms stay the same or even go away when the cancer is present. Symptoms are not the best way to test whether or not you have cancer.
Seeing a specialist / oncologist is the best way to alleiviate your worries. I can tell you that the MAJORITY of these types of symptoms end up NOT being cancer at all, so you shouldnt worry. I would however go get a professional opinion. There are tests they can do that range from blood tests to check your cancer levels in your body, to needle biopsys to pick off a small part of it (relatively painless).
The ONLY person that can confirm cancer is your doctor.
Don't try to diagnose it on yahoo answers. Go get a checkup- I'm sure you are fine!
Btw, in the small case that you aren't fine and it is cancer, early detection is the KEY, don't wait. Cancer these days, WONT kill you, its just another thing you will have to take care of.
Best of luck to you

What is the symptom?
My fiancee was 30 when he was diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer. He had horsness for years and never got it checked. He then had a scope and they found the tumor. After months of radiation and chemo- we are getting married in 2 months
But back to you- I would need to know your symptoms. You may have chronic dry throat or something like that.
Please explain.

I would get a biopsy.
I had a lump on my thyroid that made it difficult to swallow with no other symptoms. I felt fine! I went to doctors for years and asked them to look into it and they said it was no big deal. Now 4 years later I have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
You have to be your our advocate...that is the one thing I have learned they should have done more than just a larygscopy. Push to have it looked into if that is what your gut tells you, I knew in my gut to push.
Best of luck to you!!!!!

Neither are addictions, and a lengthy record of alternative ailments/behaviors. particularly, those are indicators of unresolved anger, guilt, worry, etc. those unresolved thoughts reason conflicts (lack of peace) in the device and are hence the real causes of a lot of our issues. till they're real resolved, we can basically flit from symptom to symptom with the phantasm that healing is taking position." Emotional aspects doesn't reason cancer in any variety. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it truly is going to reason you may some thing else you'll hate to attend to as an example the middle project or abdomen project ,etc which possibilty brought about by way of Bulimia or Anorexia nervosa. in case you look after your self and take a step to take a duty for what it become to you. Any swollen lymph nodes? I started out with swallowing difficulty and the node at the base of my neck was swollen. yada yada yada it was Lymphoma. Please keep getting tests if you have any doubts. Change doctors if you have to. You must be able to set your mind at ease. If it's nothing, fine. If it's something, you need treatment right away. You need to know for sure, to protect your body and calm your anxiety level. Best wishes
