When they say the states, they are talking about the United States. Do you want a whole list. If you want the names of the states, you can look at a map.

Sorry AJ, you're not giving us enough to go on. If you mean what are the names of the States ? It's easier for you to look them up yourself. Listing all fifty is too time consuming- - - and looking then up yourself is good training for you.
A State is a sovereign nation. If you want a list of all the sovereign nations of the world, you might be expecting too much. Do some of the work yourself.
