I've noticed that I am drinking a lot more water and juices now. I can't seem to quench my thirst. I know these are so much better for me than Coke or Pepsi - but I'm just concerned. If you stopped drinking sodas, has this happened to you?

Here is how it works:
Soda dehydrates you. When your body is dehydrated, it goes into "sahara mode" meaning it holds onto what little water you have. The effect of this water retention is that you are disinclined to drink.
When you stop drinking the soda, and start drinking water, you wil release the water you have retained, as well as water you have just drunk.
This will make you thirsty and cause you to drink water. Once your body is used to constant hydration, you will drink and pee at normal intervals.
You should drink 2 ounces of water for every pound you weigh per day.
You should only drink juice (8 oz glass) once or twice a day, and as a nutrient, not a beverage.

You're probably actually noticing more. I've noticed that when I start to get very thirsty, sugary drinks (such as sodas) are a very bad idea and don't quench my thirst at all.

Your body is probably trying to flush a bunch of junk out.

It doesn't really make sense that this would happen. Sodas actually dehydrate you unlinke water & juice which hydrate you. Maybe your body is just adjusting to not having the soda.

I have stopped drinking sodas before and that never happened to me.

You may be getting withdrawl symptoms from the caffeine. Water is best for quenching thirst, like Perrier, Evian, Volvic or San Pellegrino withy some ice. {:-)

Usually only when a person has diabetes he or she will feel very thirsty constantly. I am not sure about your case though.

But anyway, Orange juice is the best thirst quencher... Try it...
