i think if the guy is totally devoted to his kid they yes there are alot of single dads out there cause the mom for some reason or another either gave custody or lost custody of there kids. it takes lots of time patience and energy but if the guy has lots of patients then yes. there is no reason why a guy couldnt take care a baby. and even when the dad and mom arent together the dad gets time with the baby just dad and baby. so he still has the chance to be an active care taker of the baby. oh and as long as you dont mind changing dirty diapers there are alot of those lol

It depends on what you mean by "the right way". I am a mother of two and teach parenting classes. People so often expect a mother to do right but a father can do no wrong as long as he is trying. I know several fathers who feed, bathe, play, study, discipline, nurture and teach their children. The love and interaction is the important role of the PARENT.

The way our society deems roles is that the mother is the home nurturer and the father is the hunter gatherer. However; study after study over the last 50 years tells us that the time we spend with our children is more important than roles. Even babies with limited abilities respond to touch, voice and emotion.

Yes, men can take care of babies very well. There is no manual except those who have been there. Get good advice, take notes and enjoy!

Yes. I stayed home for the first three years of my sons life. It was a choice that i made to give up a decent day job and raise my son my way. I am sure that there are some decent sitters out there, but none that can compare to the genuine love of a parent.
The bond that we developed is unbreakable. Nurturing does really account for alot in a childs life.
If you ever met my son I'm sure you would agree.
I recommend at least one parent stay home with their children during the first years of their lives. The pay offs are worht more than what any career could pay.

Not only do I think that a man is capable of looking after a baby, I think it's absolutely necessary! After each birth of my two boys, my wife went back to work on nights. This was a great time for me to have time with the kids to bond. It's nice that when they are hurt or upset that they don't always run to mom like kids tend to do. They trust me to be able to take care of them.

As a child gets older, that relationship gets harder to build, so the father needs to step up and spend time with their babies.

Of course they can! Involved Daddies make the world a better place. We have all known couples where the man was the more nurturing partner. Children benefit from loving care, no matter what gender gives the caring.

Yes, they can...but it has to be a man who has patience and willing to devote alot of time and nurturing to this child. Alot of men tend to be to impatient or short tempered when it comes to a baby crying all the time or all its every needs tend to irritate a man more than a mother.

But a patient loving man can have a child to care for....but again he must know it is not easy and should not attempt if he is short tempered or impatient.

Good luck

Men can definitely raise kids and raise them to be great people. There are plenty of single Dad's out there doing a wonderful job of raising their kids. I believe that men bring something different to the child-rearing perspective that is just as valuable as what women have to offer.

it depends on the man. Some are very good with babies and others shouldn't be allowed within 100 feet of them. I know some women who fit that category, too.
