Newly pierced ears have a tendency to do that. I wouldn't worry unless you find that they are bleeding alot and dont stop. Depending on what earrings you have in (i am presuming studs), they can cause the ear to bleed at night if you have slept on your side. When I had mine done on the lower lobe, I cleaned then gently with cotton wool doused in the sergical spirit I was given. It stings like hell but really does a fab job of keeping infection out. Make sure you also twist your earrings both morning and night to free them up. If they bleed and then you dont move them, they can get stuck tight and it kills when you try to take them out for the first time. Also, dont fiddle with them at school for hygiene reasons and dont take them out too quickly.

If it is your upper part of your ear that is pierced (it would have hurt alot getting it done) be careful if you have chosen small studs. I had a small CZ stud when I first got the top part done and because the stud was small, it got pushed into my ear when I slept on it one night. The whole stud bit! I freaked when I got up!! I got it out after much pain and just left it out in the end. If you haven't had this part done, I advise you not too as its a pain in the butt.

Goodluck!!

First of all, stop using alcohol. Its too harsh and for most people it causes more harm that good. Don't use peroxide, Bactine, Neosporin or other harsh cleaners. Some people do have success with them, but like I said more harm that good is caused for a majority of people.

Secondly, if you didn't go to a professional body piercer you probably should have. Chances are, if the jewelry isn't surgical stainless steel or titanium it will add to the problem. Cheap jewelry can cause allergic and irritable reactions causing swelling, bleeding and unneeded redness and pain.

They shouldn't be gushing blood. A little bit of dried blood here and there is common for the first couple days but shouldn't be excessive and shouldn't last for more than a week. If that becomes the case, consult a professional piercer and a doctor if need be.

Here is what you should do:

Stop using alcohol. Wash the area twice daily with antibacterial soap (Dial is just fine) and remove any build up with a wet q-tip. Do not pick at the crust or play with the piercings during the day. Also, start using sea salt soaks. They do wonders for piercings. You will want to soak the area twice daily for 10-15 minutes. You shouldn't be playing with the jewelry or touching it unless you are cleaning it and be sure to wash your hands before and after cleaning to reduce spreading of dirt, blood and germs.

If they gave you a cleaner, I do not suggest using it unless you check the ingredients (some 'cleaners' do contain alcohol and others are nothing more than highly diluted saline)

Also, you didn't specify the type of jewelry being used. You should have high quality metal in your ears probably CBRs or barbells. Post type earrings which are what you get when you go to the mall are too short, do not allow for good healing or cleaning and can increase risk for infections. Post type earrings often contain nickel and most people have allergic reactions to it. If you have posts, see a piercer and get them switched out. It will reduce healing time and likeliness of this problem persisting.

to prevent bleeding you should clean your ears a least 3 times a day, alcohol may be to rough for newly pieced ears, when you got your ears pieced they should of gave a special formula to clean with, but if not sterile water is the best.and never take out earrings
until the 6 to 8 weeks is over.

Yes u should regularly clean it by MEDICATED SPIRIT very gently. But for bleeding immediately apply some antiseptic cream. If it pains u then have some mild pain killer too. I too faced the same problem. And they have pierced it on the vein.It continued for me for several days. Sometimes he area became swollen too. And I used hot paste of turmeric(which is the age old ayurvedic antiseptic and pain killer)and Mercurochrome too.Hope yours is not the same case. But just check it by anybody who is experienced.Do not withdraw the ring(or anything u have). If u do so the pore can close at this early stage and when there will be no more bleeding try very gently to move the ring(but do not do so until the area is cured. For the time being only a little touch or shaking will do the job. But not more than that.)
Good luck

Why in the world are you using alcohol on a piercing anyhow? You should be washing the piercings with a mild soap twice a day and drying thoroughly with a paper towel to prevent germs.

Alcohol dries out your skin, it causes gold to crack and it also prolongs healing time as well as being painful to use on an open puncture wound.

They should not be bleeding after 48 hours...stop touching them.

you could try going to the nurse, but when I was in school they couldn't give you anything like that... hopefully they can now and you could get it cleaned up. Make sure you clean it regularly with rubbing alcohol or you chance it getting infected. I wouldn't worry about it bleeding in the beginning, that'll stop as the hole starts to heal.

PS Don't use the ear cleaning stuff they sell you at the piercing place, it's not strong enough to really clean and keep from infection. My friend worked at a place like that and had A LOT of people come back with infections, she always told them to use rubbing alchol.

if they bleed longer than a couple of days, you might want to go to a doctor. you might have an infection. i got an infection, but it wasn't in the first few days. don't use rubbing alcohol either. you should have gotten a bottle of ear cleaner when you got them pierced, you have to apply it with a cotton swab and clean every day! hope that helps!

you arent supposed to use rubbing alcohol on them! (rubbing alcohol) nor hydrogen peroxide. both of these willincrease the healing time. cause more scarring and irritate your ears... you are supposed to use an aftercare pierce olutions that they shoudl have given you but doing these sea salt soaks will work just as well. a natural remey for helign new piercings and fighting off any pending infections...

these soaks will also loosen up any crust built upon or around the jewelry. its best done with non iodized sea salt and warm distilled water.

You are not suppose to use alcohol on piercings. Use the cleanser they gave you or use a sea salt/water mix. Are you playing with them? That could cause them to bleed. Just keep them clean and only to touch them when you have to turn them.

I really don't think alcohol is good for your ears. If they are bleeding that mean that you are not cleaning them properly. Best of luck.
