I flew from NY to Miami a few weeks ago. I was going to fly back to NY on Tuesday. However, I bought a car while I was down here and plan to drive it back to NY. So.... can I do anything with that "return leg" of the ticket, or is it money lost? Do I need to call the airline and tell them I will not be flying, or just not check in?
Thanks!

Normally you will forfeit the return leg or the trip, unless you have a rare ticket. It's always worth it to call and check, but don't get your hopes up. It's polite to let them know you won't be flying, as well. They can then give your seat to someone else who may be on a waiting list.
