If you take a pregnant cat into the vet early in the pregnancy, I think within the first week. The vet will go in and spay her, and while he is in there he will remove the kittens. What a horrible thing to do though!! Wouldn't it be nice if people would be responsible instead.

Absolutely. If she got pregnant, you could take her to the vet and have her spayed and they would terminate the pregnancy. Usually they do this for smaller cats that would have a traumatic birthing process, or cats who have already been poor mothers. But it absolutely can be done. And there is nothing wrong with it. And if you think there is, go adopt a litter of kittens from the SPCA. Save a life there.

Yes. They're usually not on purpose, though. My mother had a cat growing up that they took in to get spayed. Turns out she was pregnant, and not far enough along yet for my grandparents to realize, but since they didn't discover that she was going to have kittens until after she was in surgery...

Yes if a cat is pregnant when they are taken in to be fixed the pregnancy will be aborted when the surgery takes place (the cat cannot be too far along in her pregnancy though)

Yes there is a kitty abortion! But being a cat love I would so you shouldn't do it but after having failed litters then you might look more heavy at the option.

Yes, I had a cat that had 2 litters prior and wouldn't take care of any of the kittens, when she got pregnant again I had the kittens aborted and her spade. I didn't like it, but she just wasn't the motherly type and wouldn't take care of the babies.

Vets can do pretty much anything these days. I'm sure if your cat developed serious health problems because of pregnancy and you wanted to save her they would do it. The cat would probably self abort before that though.

ok first of all you should ALWAYS SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PETS! if you do that you wont even have to worry about cat abortions. Ive herd that you can do that, but it shouldnt have to go there, you shouldnt own pets if you cant take care of them and do the responsible thing and spay or neuter them.

Yes. When they spay girl cats they remove both ovaries and uterus, and sometimes the uterus is removed with the kittens inside, if the pregancy is not too advanced.

Vets will do a kitty abortion only if they can finish up with a spay!
