i guarantee you that the scriptures say that Salvation is FREE and given to all of us by Grace.
However, there are only the sons of perdition that will be cast out, which implies they are the ones that commit the ONLY unforgiveable sin which is blasphemy of the Holy ghost.
This does not mean that before they are saved they must go into hell and places of death! but the prophecy of revelation says death and hell will deliver up THEIR Dead.
Jesus appeared to Peter on the rooftop and said He has Made ALL things CLEAN. Of course that is the Future and jesus appearing in the past before allthe tribulations and pre judgments are made.
Discerning a person is saved is based on Faith, repentance and baptism, by water and the spirit. Generally called being Born again. Being born again is also called sanctification and justification. A public testimony of faith in christ is also mentioned as one of the steps as proclamation of faith.
This last paragraph is the most important parts of discerning who is saved and who is not. but remember it is also written that those who say LORD LORD with their lips are more like hypocrites then they are like saints. But it is also written that a Testimony is powerful enought to OvERCOME the "BEAST" and with the Blood of Jesus christ most people do overcome evil. Therefore when a Believer Shares his testimony it is written that such a person is forgiven, So a testimony is a pure guide if one listens to the heart of what is being said, one can discern if that person is Saved.

We can never be a hundred percent sure about other people. Being saved is ultimately up to that individual and the Lord. The fruit we bear what we do in life sometimes are good indicators, however some people can have the best morals and motives and not be a true christian. True Christianity is all about what Christ did, we can claim nothing of ourselves. Religion is man bringing God to their level with limitations and expectations.

The only way to discern anything is by scripture. Salvation can be known.
A good "score sheet" if you will would be the book of 1 John.
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him:
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? —unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

You can be under a saved condition but no one is saved until the end. Read Matthew 24:13. Always rely on the scriptures and not what someone else is telling you. I found out that many who claimed to have have degrees in Divinity, don't usually know much about the bible.

The Catholic view of salvation is that we have been saved at baptism, we are working out our salvation, and we hope to be saved when we die. Another words it is a process. This is all biblical from Pauls letters, sorry I do not have the Bible verses right now but you can e-mail (mzenner378@yahoo.com) me if you want to talk more - God Bless

That's a good one more "Christians" should ask themselves. Ever since there was more than one religion, people have been killing each other for having a different God. According to Jesus All you have to do is repent to go to heaven. I don't consider myself a Christian.I believe in a more loving & kinder God.I say "Let people find a God of their own understanding"

This verse is what helps me answer this question:
1 John 2:3-6 :: And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

There are several Scriptures that shed light on this.
John 13:34-35 tells us: "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
This is a self-sacrificing love according to chapter 15:13 -- "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Then in Matthew 7:16-23 we learn that it by a person's conduct and obedience that show whether or not one is a Christian:
"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

We are saved by grace, not by works, so that no one can boast.
We are saved by grace alone. Recall that in Acts 16:31 the jailer asked Paul and Silas how to be saved. They responded, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved." The jailer believed and immediately became saved.
Close to 200 times in the New Testament salvation is said to be by faith alone - with no works in sight. Consider the following:
John 3:15 tells us that "everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
John 5:24 says, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
In John 11:25 Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies."
John 23:46 says, "I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."
John 20:31 says, "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
If salvation were not by faith alone, then Jesus' message in the Gospel of John - manifest in the above quotations - would be deceptive, stating that there is one condition for salvation when there are allegedly two - faith and works.
I must emphasize that we are saved by faith for for works. Works are not the condition of our salvation, but a consequence of it We are saved not by works, but by the kind of faith that produces works.
Eph 2:8-10 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this: It is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
I believe that once a person exercises saving faith in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever in the family of God. God never kicks anyone our of his forever family. A number of Scripture passages support this view. For example, in 1 Corinthians 12:13 we are told that at the moment of salvation the Holy Spirit places us in the body of Christ. Once we are infused into the body of Christ, we are never excised from the body. In fact, Ephesians 1:12 and 4:30 indicate that at the moment of believing in Jesus Christ for salvation, we are permanently "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. At that point, we are God's everlasting property. That seal guarantees that we'll make it to heaven.
Moreover, we read in John 10:28-30 that it is the Father's purpose to keep us secure despite anything that might happen once we have trusted in Christ. Nothing can snatch us out of His hands. God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:24). Further, Romans 8:29-30 portrays an unbroken chain that spans from the predestination of believers to their glorification in heaven.
Another fact we need to keep in mind is that Christ regularly prays for each Christian (Hewbews 7:25). With Jesus interceding for us, we are sucure. (His prayers are always answered!)
Of course, the fact that a believer is secure in his salvation does not mean he is free to sin. If the Christian sins and remains in that sin, Scripture says that God will discipline him or her just as a father disciplines his children (see Hebrews 12:7-11).
