My vehicle is a registered sedan, and I received a parking ticket on which "Subn" (suburban) was chosen. Is this error enough that my ticket will be considered defective and therefore dismissed?

I really doubt it. How does this contradict the fact that you were parked wrong?
Now maybe if they had the wrong license plate number written down you would have something to stand on.

No probably not. It will cost you more in lost wages to take the day off and fight the ticket. Do something with it because if it goes un-dealt with the parking ticket may be turned into a state citation costing you more money and a potential car boot.

If the ticked was for parking a suburban in a spot that sedans was supposed to be parked in, then you have something.

Otherwise, what was the parking ticket for? Parking illegally?

At one time here in Cal I recived a ticket that said my car was Blue and it is defenately White. I showed the judge that the car was white and he dismissed the ticket.

Did they get the license plate number correct?
That's all that matters.

Common sense.
