Yeah, that's what i don't get. I said let get our troops back here and re define our borders, develop a great beyond marvelous CIA, and satellite system to keep terrorist out. Take no chances. I hope all is well with you. But, there are so many things the public does not know that goes on, and never will know. We're nothing more than ponds in a big game. Remember, the famous Jack Nicholson 'quote" "You Can't Handle the Truth!" No harm meant to you. I hope your husband make it out UN skived.

Supposely it's to fight for Iraq so that when the Allies leave Iraq will not be taken back over by terrorist/dictators.

However I doubt that such a task can be acomplished in 50 years or less. Mainly cause of Islam and it rules and the fact that democracy goes against alot of what Islam teaches. Just pick up a Qu'ran and read you will see alot of it is against what we believe is freedom

Every soldier is different. I fight for my freedom, the ideals of freedom of my forefathers, my brothers in arms, and the freedom of the countries that are oppressed. I cringe at all the dictatorships in this world, and relish it when I get the opportunities to make a difference there.

Why don't you ask your husband what he is fighting for?

Iraq sponsored two of several major training facilities for terrorists in the 90's. We've recovered records of thousands (at a minimum) of muslim extremists who passed through these camps, and since their primary targets are the US and Israel, you can rest assured that your husband is defending American interests and helping insure our safety.

The army has a web site now in response to requests via Freedom of Information Act posting these translated documents. I should stop talking about it and find the web site again, but if you're interested, you might try your luck as well.

Be proud of your husband. It's okay to want him to come home, but he's a world-class hero and he's on a good team.

He is fighting for the US. Even if you don't see that or can't appreciate it I do so tell him thanks for me. Not all the decisions by the administration have been good and the timing for going to Iraq may have been poor but it will help to prevent future attacks on US soil. I want go into all the details here but if you look at my previous post on the issue maybe it will help. God bless you and your Hubby and I hope you get him back soon.

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Suck it up and stop bitching. He knew what he was getting into when he joined.

I seriously think that we are basically fighting just to fight because there is no point for us being over there! The people from Iraq do not want our help, but yet Mr.Bush is so persistent in offering our help to people that dont want it! i wonder if he has close relatives over there?

I dont know but, I hope this end SOON. Too many people are dying in this war, and now more are being sent. Many children and families are staying without fathers, mother and their loved ones. I hope your husband comes home soon and safe!!

I'm right there with you. My brother and dad are both doing the same thing. They thought they'd be fighting for our freedoms when they joined the air force, but yet they're stuck fighting in a war that makes no sense to us, and for freedoms that aren't ours. They never asked us to be there or to fight for them, and yet we are losing our guys all the time for a war that should never have been ours to begin with.
