Why do I feel sharp pains in my pelvis sometimes?

Sometimes i feel it in the middle and sometimes on the sides. I dont feel it everyday, I feel it once in a while. i know im not pregnant...so what could it be?

Is it only for a short time, and only once a month or so? If so, that is ovulation pain. If not, I'm not really sure.
