I think that is precisely what it is whether you're talking Christian heaven, hell, and suffering or Hindi caste systems. It's a human coping mechanism that is easier for some people to swallow than, "Hey, sometimes life isn't fair. Bad things happen to nice, honest people, and every so often the bad guys win."

Not for me. When I see injustice, I don't think, "Hmm, I can't wait until they get their divine punishment for that." I just think of how sad that it occurs, ponder why does it occur, observe the reactions of those that also witness the injustice (usually two opposing views) and think about what could be done to prevent injustices.

If you mean do you receive consequences (from God) for the injustices and sins you commit, yes. Sometimes in this life, but always in the life to come. That's why it is so important to get those thing forgiven, and the source of them - a sinful nature - taken care as soon as possible in this life. Avoid trouble both here and to come. Faith in Jesus is what provides the cure for both.

Do you mean that's how some who believe in that deal with people who annoy them? They feel better saying "well, they're going to hell in a handbasket?"
I would say yes. I can't speak for them, but I feel the same way sometimes when I see people speeding or driving like assholes. Only I condemn them to highway patrol, not hell.

I think that's part of it.
Just look at what god did to the babies of the egyptians. If that isn't simple revenge, I don't know what is.

Just leave the details to Satan. He'll fix 'em alright.
