This gets asked of atheists all the time. "Why don't you kill yourselves? You have nothing to live for?"

I say the opposite is the case. I have EVERY reason to live, as I'm not going to heaven afterwards.

So I ask you, if you believe you're going to heaven afterwards... why do you not wish for death every single day?

(Opinionated... so if the bible said suicide was a-ok, you'd kill yourself tomorrow? Interesting... suicide bombers believe that very thing...)

I would be happy to die before I finish this.

I am saved so I know when it is my time to go when God is ready for me I will go to heaven and I will be so happy to go. There has been many times in my life I have wanted to die, but that is not God's will for me. Life is a blessing. I have a family that needs me. My life here on this earth is a testimony. We as Christians should spread the word and tell others about God. Live our lives in a Christian manor to show others what God's Love is all about. So even if I could commit suicide I would not dare. I will die when God is ready to take me home.

I am a Christian. I love my life. I am very excited about dying though. I know that I will be absent from the body and face to face with the Lord. I will be in a place of no more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain, no more death. I will see my Father, Mother and baby brother. I have many other loved ones that I am anxious to be with.
I look forward to my blessings. I am not afraid of death and have always wanted to die young. I have great inner peace and happiness on earth. I know that my peace and happiness will be greater in heaven. I will obviously live as long as God has a plan and purpose for my life. I will suffer in this life. I welcome that suffering as I have promises that God has given me to handle them. Peace out.

To be absent from the body and present with the Lord is a much greater and more pleasing thing for me. But God has a purpose for me while I am here, alive. I am an ambassador for Him to a lost people, you included.

An ambassador does not get to decide when he/she will go home. They serve at the will of the ruler of their home country. It is no different with Christians. When our service on earth has come to an end, then we will go home to enjoy fellowship with God which will complete us in every way.

You are correct about one thing. You do have every reason to live as you have nothing to gain by dying and everything to lose. How sad that you would trade this short season of pleasure for an eternity of agony being seperated from God. But, of course, that is your choice... one that will be honored, however short sighted it might seem.

This would be a shortcut from the cross of Christ. Christ new that he would die and be killed by sinners. He would not take the easy way out. The devil tempted him to do so but he withstood the temptaion. He had much to do, many people to heal, things to teach etc before he was crucified. We too are to be like Christ and in the end we hope that we may enter into heaven to be with him forever.

Orest (above) said it well.

Life is a blessing. We enjoy it until the day when the Lord takes us home. It is not ours to choose when we live or die. Life is good, heaven is better.

Because while I am alive I can help with my part of the work here. Also, I will only die physically, and my body will be resurrected later any ways; so who cares when I die?

Suicide is a crime against our own body. God hates suicide. We will be rewarded after we die, but have a job to do now.

I'm saved, so I know where I'm going when I die. I don't think to much about dying, but I do think about what it's going to be like to be in the presence of Jesus Christ!!!!
