His sister has the IQ of a bowling ball and thinks he's a frying pan. He wants to know the going rate for paying square-dancing casaba melons at bingo parlors in Kalamazoo Mi.

I wish I knew! But it is hysterical nonetheless... Probably because it DOESN'T seem to make any sense.
I guess it's the humor in the fact that the person thinks his biggest problem is his sister, and that he doesn't perceive that there is anything un-normal about what he's wearing

psychiatrists often say any problem you have is with your family so if you are crazy enough to walk in with eggs and bacon on you the joke is that they will still say you have problem with your family

Well it's supossed to be ironic. Here it is the mean who really has some problems and can't see it.
Sort of like the way we have blindspots when it comes to our own faults and can easily spot them in others.
