Is it a title shot? I think he should work his way up as others do, Im not trying to be disrespectfull.
Is Dana Trying to get someone in the hvywght with more skill cuz Tim Silvia has No chance to beat Cro Cop?
Just proves to me how Dana can manipulate things in the ufc

By manipulating I mean giving fighters preference and shouldnt others who are working theyre way up to a title fight be given a chance than someone pulled right out of retirement? I do respect Mr.Coture but it isnt fair.
So IMO I think Dana can probably influence the outcome of a fight saying who will win etc.

I don't think he deserves a title shot, but I've always felt something was up with the UFC. Dana gets to close to the fighters and should not have any say in the match making. Some of the judges decisions on fights are Don King like and are obviously influenced by which fighter will sell more ppv futures. Its because Couture is buddies with White, I read an interview with Rampage about a half a year ago in which Rampage Jackson say the UFC did'nt even call him to talk to him about a contract offer, no offers and no calls. He said because they did'nt want him because he could beat there money maker Liddell. They never even considered signing him until Liddell went to White and said he wants the rematch.

Randy was primed to come back to the UFC anyway. Randy said that if Tito had won at UFC 66, he would have come back to fight him. As Tito lost, Randy will come back against another champ. Sylvia isn't very popular and The Natural is, so the matchup will be great from a marketing perspective. You have to realize that Dana is trying to make money, not please the hard core MMA fans. Most casual fans will see this as an awesome matchup, whereas you and I see this as a match between a mediocre champion and an out of the blue contender. I personally would have rather seen Vera going after Sylvia next, but he and the UFC haven't come to terms on a new contract. Whoever has the belt will lose it to CroCop first time around anyway. After UFC 67 & 68, we'll know how good Sylvia really is, and how badly he will lose to Mirko.

Because it would mean big bucks for Dana, he's a true businessman, and knows that by bringing such a name against a champion that people don't like much because of his boring style, he'll make a bundle on a PPV event. Indeed he'd have no chance to beat Cro Cop, but then again Pride has more well-versed fighters because of the more variety of nations that compete. Of course Dana manipulates things in the UFC , he's the president after all, it's his job.

Well, he is a hall of famer isn't he? Although to be honest I would be happy for anyone to take out Sylvia. He is such a one dimensional fighter. He has improved on not being taken down (as proved during the Monson fight), but I think Monson would have beat him had it not been for such a disparity in reach.

Also how does anyone know whether or not Cro Crop is so good? He hasn't even been tested in the UFC octagon yet has he?

Randy retired after he fought Chuck Liddell last year. He is not interested in fighting Sylvia anyway. I think Dana White is a very good organizer for the sport and has done well to bring it to the forefront of sports entertainment today. UFC is 1000 times better that pro wrestling.

Randy Couture has proven himself to be a great MMA fighter. Granted, Chuck Liddel beat him, but nobody is beating Chuck Liddel at this time. Dana is a smart man, and he knows that people enjoy watching Couture fight. Randy fighting at heavyweight again will be an attraction in itself. If he starts to beat the heavyweights again, it will be even more so.

Because Crocop is going to beat anyone that Dana puts in his way. There is more legitimacy to the title and the UFC if Crocop beats a named fighter like Couture versus a meathead like the Maine-iac. If I'm Crocop I wouldn't have agreed to a six fight deal without knowing I'd be taking the title from Couture in my third fight. Cro's line in UFC is going to be: Sanchez, Couture, Silvia/Couture, Silvia/Couture, some meathead from TUF, cut weight and take the Iceman out and then go home.

Plain and simple, he shouldn't but the UFC is a business and this fight is the one that will bring in the most money, the Nevada State Athletic Commision really shouldn't allow this fight to take place, but since they will I really hope Randy can pull this off.

1st of all randy couture dose not need to work his way up............he can fight who every he want because he has already prove that he is the best.

Tim Sylvia is suppose to fight Brandon Vera but something went wrong...............i believe that Dana white is just wanting to get rid of Tim Sylvia........Tim Sylvia is a very boa ring fight.

They do things like this to get more people to buy the PPV. Dana is doing a hell of a job. The last PPV with Liddel/Ortiz was the biggest yet.
