I think both you AND the pup need obedience training. It's still a baby! I mean a little baby! It's not going to know everything you want it to do, and not do right away! It needs to be trained, and taught social behavior. I'm not saying you need to go to be mean. I'm saying you need to go so you know how to handle the pup, and what to do when you tell it to do something. How to give it a command, and you can see how a pup is trained, so that if/when you get another one, you'll know what to do, and you won't have to take the next one to an obedience trainer.
If you ask me, it's not stupid! It's actually pretty smart. I mean, HIDING it's crap, so it won't get in trouble? How many animals hide things? Aside from ferrets lol. And barking and scratching at you for food, is better then what my dog does. My dog will sit there and stare at me. Half the time I don't know what he wants, because he stares at me whenever he wants other things. To go outside, get fresh water, be pet, get food. So be glad that you have a sign of when he wants to eat. Although you might want to try and break him of this habit as he gets older.
You need to change the food you're giving it. If he's throwing up, then there's something wrong with it! If it isn't the food that's causing it to throw up, then try watching it. It's got to be eating something that isn't agreeing with it's tummy, or it's sniffing something it shouldn't and it's having a bad reaction, or it's allergic to what it's smelling. Just because it throws up, doesn't mean it's stupid. Animals can't make themselves throw up like we can. At least, not for the same reasons!
Then you need to focus on house breaking it. Don't worry about wether or not it's trying to eat your turtle. Or if it's breath stinks. You need to focus on getting it outside, BEFORE it goes potty in the house. Watch him for signs that he's about ready to go, then grab him and take him outside. Or just take him outside every hour, until he goes, then when he goes, praise the hell out of him! And do it everytime he goes potty outside. When he goes in the house, don't smack him with your hand. Get a rolled up newspaper or magazine, and tap him gently on the rump(by the tail). Using your hand will only make him afraid of the hand, or make him hand aggressive. Once he's house broken, half your problems will go away.
About the turtle. It's a spaniel, it's a natural hunter. So when it sees something smaller then it, of course it's going to attack it. But it's still a pup, so I doubt it's trying to kill it. It probly just wants to play, and doesn't know how to play with it. It's not the hardest thing to do, but it's not an easy thing, to teach your pup not to try and play/attack it. Try asking a vet, animal behaviorist, or an obedience trainer for advice and tips.
If you changed his food, and his breath still stinks, keep an eye on him for a couple weeks. He may be eating something he shouldn't be, or maybe a dead animal outside. If it's none of the above, then take him to the vet. I think spaniels are prone to getting a dental problem, that causes bad breath, and gum problems. I'm not sure, so don't quote me on it, but you should take him to the vet if his bad breath persists. I wouldn't worry to much about it right now, because he's still got his puppy teeth, more then likely, so his breath will smell a little funny.
This might sound a little gross, but I actually like the smell of puppy breath. It's not my favorite smell in the world, but it reminds me that pup is still innocent, and needs guidance from me, to become a well behaved dog.
And you have to remember a few things : you wanted a puppy, so you're going to have to deal with what the puppy dishes out. It's a natural hunter, you might as well get used to the idea of having things like mice, rats, birds, and other small critters showing up on your porch, or at your bed.
It's still a puppy so it WILL have accidents. My dog is full grown, almsot 4 yrs old, and he still goes in the floor. But that's because his bladder can only hold so much, for so long. I don't get all pissy with him about it, because I know that he couldn't help it. Don't punish him, unless you catch him in the act of doing it.
And if you can't train him or control him, then you might want to give him up to another home. Not trying to be mean or anything, but some people just aren't animal people. They love animals, but they lack that certain thing, to take care of animals.
Good luck to you! And take everyone's advice to heart. Unless they're just @SSholes lol. No offense to anyone else!!

I have read the answers here to your Questions, and it seems we are all of one thought here. You need to read up on the care of a Puppy. At age 3 months, he/she should have a High Quality Puppy food down 24/7. As for the eating of Poo, if it is his/her own poo, there are pills you can give her that will stop that habbit, and it will also in turn, stop her from vomiting. You obviously know nothing about raising a puppy, or you would not be having these issues. This could very easily be the wrong choice of breeds for you.
Cockers are a very smart Breed, and there is NO such thing as a stupid Puppy. But there is such a thing as an owner not taking the time to learn how to read the meanings of a puppy. I agree with the others, you need to take her/him to an Obedience class and learn together. If you do not want to do that, then you need to find the Puppy a "Good Loving Home", and never get another Dog, period.

No dog can be considered housetrained until they are at least 6 months old, their bladders just can't hold it very long. Putting your dog in a crate any time you leave or even if you are home(not more than 6-8 hours at a time though, but can't keep an eye on her will keep her from pooping. as soon as she comes out of the crate, she goes out.
I ask my dogs to lay down or sit-stay before they eat, they know that if they jump and scratch, they won't get food, they have to be calm. This also reinforces their training. A trainer can help with this.
She hides after pooping because she is scared that you are going to punish her.
The vomiting can have many causes. Are you feeding her too much(because of the whining), is it bad food(basically, with few exceptions, if it comes from a grocery store or walmart, it's crap.)or even worms, she is a puppy.
Greenies , minty rawhides or other treats help with oral hygene, you can give her these treats when she potties outside. She might have a rotten tooth though, take her to the vet.
Put her in her crate when the turtle is out, otherwise keep them separate until she is older and calmer.
Every problem you described can be fixed by a trainer and vet, if you go to petsmart, your trainer and vet will be in the same place.I'm not saying they are the best, but it seems like you might have a lazy streak, most poeple do, and they are very convienent.

Sounds like you need to be more understanding and go to a training class with your PUPPY! It doesn't sound like stupidity is the problem that is facing your dog.
You need to set up a feeding schedule so your dog eats at certain times and is then taken outside about 30 minutes after it eats and you stay outside with it until it goes to the bathroom. If it is barfing, it may be getting into something that it shouldn't be eating. Make sure you keep the floors clean and only feed your dog a high quality dog food.
Keep the turtle away from the dog.
And, above all, if you can't adequately care for your puppy, find someone who can!

Beats me My Cocker is terrified of our ducks, she would rather go to the bathroom in the house then face a duck. It is kind of funny to see her run from a silly bird. We now have to walk with her to chase the ducks away.
And she chews and scratches herself all day long. We have tried everything to get her to stop, even giving her shots prescribed by the vet.. Her hind end is bald from all the scratching and chewing. I even tried bathing the dog every day. Nothing works.
If you can, try brushing your dogs teeth. It won't be easy, but starting while the dog is young will help, some pet stores even have special toothpaste for dogs, but any cheap brand for kids will work. Push the paste into the brush with your finger , that way the dog won't be able to eat the paste.
There is also a dog food on the market that is supposed to help with the breath.
My dog is also picky about where she goes potty. She seems to like to go to my bushes to do her buisness where my yard is heavily mulched. Try leaving a pile of leaves or pinestraw somewhere that your dog has access to.

ok. take a deep breath. no dog is really stupid. they're only as good as they are trained or handled. the turtle thing is easy. cocker spaniels are hunting dogs. keep the turtle out of reach. the housebreaking thing is actually easy too. when you CAN'T watch her (?), put her in a crate/cage. do not use it as a punishment. it's a house training tool. she'll learn to control her bathroom habits because she won't like to lie in her mess. so follow these steps and you'll be fine. before you leave, feed her breakfast and take her for a nice LONG walk, give her a couple of toys and put her in the crate. as SOON as you get home, hustle her out the door for another LONG walk. at night, feed her and take her for another LONG walk. the vomiting i'll bet is too much food and not enough excersise. she's also a puppy with alot of energy, and cockers are very intelligent, loving, want to please and need mind stimulation. look into dog obedience classes or a trainer. or get a book. she may be sending you signals that she needs to go out, but because of lack of experience your missing it. i had a shep/lab x that would squeak when she yawned and that was her signal.

Your Cocker Spaniel is not stupid, and it's not his fault. He is only 3 months old, and your expecting him to just know what to do. It takes alot of patience and training. The puppy is just learning, and there will be accidents. There are websites you can go to, to get all the information you need on ways to train a puppy. Just type "Ways to train a puppy" in your search bar. One piece of advice: Never hit or stick your puppy's face in its poop or it's pee. It doesn't help, and will just make things worse. It won't happen over night, but with patience and the right training, he'll be fine. Just give him some time to learn. Another reason he's probably doing this, is for attention. Puppies need alot of human contact. Spend more time with him.

your dog is three months, it's still a puppy and still learning.
with the poo, just clean it up and put vapour rub on where it pooped beause it won't do it again.
leave some food in it's dog bowl at all times to eat it so it wont scratch it, or change the food if it makes it ill.
keep it away from your turtle.
and tap it on the nose once when it has done something wrong, and don't raise your voice because dog's consider this as a challenge.

You are talking like the dog is a lifeless thing, SHAME ON YOU!!!! That dog has a gender and a name I would suggest that you start using them and now young lady, and the dog is not stupid, HE/SHE is probably doing it because they know that you don't like them, having a pet is a big responsibilty one it sounds like that you're not even close to being ready for. I would suggest that you start spending more time with your pet and how do you know that your pet isn't trying to go out to go and nobody, especially you, is paying attention to him/her. Plus being only a puppy they have to go more often than an adult dog, so just pay attention to you pet and don't act like they don't have to go out to take care of their little doggy duties. Also if he barks and scratches until he's/she's fed means that they are hungry, unlike people they just can't go to the fridge and get something to eat, so set up a regular feeding schedule for your pet and then they won't do that. Also try brushing your dog's teeth, they need dental hygene just like humans. If you are incapable of doing all of this or don't have time for these things then do the poor pup a favor and find a GOOD & LOVING home for him/her.

First of all you need to decide if you really want a dog. Calling a puppy "stupid" is mean and if you really don't have the patience to train the puppy maybe this is a good time to find it another home with people who know what they are doing.
I don't know how old you are but the first thing I'd do is talk to your vet and get some puppy training advice.

I would recommend stop blaming the dog and take a look in the mirror. A dog is a reflection of their owner and his/her abilities as a trainer and teacher. If the dog is not learning, it means the teacher is doing something wrong. Until you focus on what the real problem is, the dog won't be able to get any better.
