Its not bad. The dentist will rub a numbing compound on your gums first. That usually deadens the gums enough so you wont even feel the shot. If you do feel anything, it will be like a little pinch. Just try to look away when it is time for the shot. Sometimes, the fear of the needle is more painful than the shot itself, if that makes sense.

I had to have a tooth worked on a few years back and was scared, too. First, the dentist rubbed something all in the area that numbed it, and then gave me the injection. It didn't prick at all-- just felt like a weird sort of pressure for a few seconds, until he took the needle out. Ask if he will deaden your mouth first, too. Then you shouldn't feel the injection any more than I did. Nothing else hurt, either, just felt weird, even after all the stuff wore off. Well, now all you're going to have to be frightened of is how much the dentist will charge you!

The injection for a filling doesn't hurt or barely. The first time needed one, I felt kindda scared. When at the dentist, you sort of feel you're loosing control of what is happening. Tell you dentist in advance and you'll be okay.

|Don't be scared. It only hurts a little. Be brave, and think of something nice, don't think about the injection. Trust me it is no big deal, BE BRAVE . You can do it. I know you can.

It doesnt hurt after they insert the needle. The initial pain is just the feeling of the needle entering your skin. You'll be fine, deep breathes!
