My 3 year old cat ALWAYS has her tail sticking straight up in the air like a flag pole (Exept when she's laying down of coarse). Why does she do this?

It means she is happy, proud and strutting her stuff. You must be doing a good job raising her, she is well adjusted.

There's nothing wrong with your cat's tail. A cat's tail and how it is positioned is indicative of the cat's mood. A cat with a straight up in the air tail means that the cat is happy. A cat with a tail that is parallel to the floor-mean he is feeling ok. A cat's who slightly twitching their tail is on the prowl, usually the tail is parallel to the floor. A cat who's tail is parallel to floor and wildly swishing back and forth-watch out they are pi$$ed.

Nothings wrong with your cat's tail. My cat has his tail (with a little curl at the end) in air when he's walking. He's a happy, well adjusted cat. Wouldn't it look funny if she dragged it behind her?

Attitude in a healty happy way. Sometimes they come into heat they will do their tails funny snappy ways. And when they feel fiesty they swish it back and forth. It's all about the way they feel and how happy they are!

It's a cat's way of saying "hello."
She's happy in your company.
