Go to a professional piercing studio because they are the ones that can advise you the best. I personally do not know how long you will have to wait, but i assume it shouldnt be that long. Once you have a piercing it is then entirely upto you to look after it, and the amount of time that piercing will last before it becomes septic and infected entirly depends on you. I suggest if you get it re-pierced to leave it for a good 2-3 months without touching it. I suggest cleaning it twice a day with warm salt water and a cotton ball, or what i used when i got mine done, and i had no problems with mine whatsoever, was the savlon antiseptic spray. I used to lay on my back and spray the piercing and wait for it to be absorbed. Good luck.

You generally have to wait 3-4 months for the area to be fully healed inside and out. Also, that give the body plenty of time to recover from any potential infections you may have gotten.
Most people are telling you that you can't get it pierced again because it won't stay and blah blah blah.
Here's my knowledge about it:
Its still a 50/50. There could have been a number of things to add into the factor; the piercer, the jewelry, your habits, the placement of the piercing, etc. If you want to get it done, chances are it will hurt more and because its hard to pierce through scar tissue it can end up crooked if the piercer is not careful. However, I've found that sometimes its hard for jewelry to reject through scar tissue but still possible. As a piercer, I can only tell you that its ultimately up to you if you want to get it redone, but you will have to remember that it still might not work.
I've re-pierced girls that have told me that it stayed and other told me it just wasn't working, so in their case, they usually get inverse navel piercings (aka on the bottom of the navel not the top). I wish you luck.

If your body rejected that quickly, it will just do it again. Piercing through scar tissue hurts incredibly and if it won't last very long, what is the point? Have you thought about non-surface piercings? Anything in the ear, your nose, lip, monroe, etc will keep longer. If your body isn't meant for surface stuff, don't force it. You'll just end up with ugly and painful scars. Plus, I hear those navel scars really come back to bite you in the butt when you're pregnant. No fun!

You should really have a profesional piercer look at your belly button to be sure, since obviously none of us can really see it.
Unfortunately, if your body has rejected the piercing once, there is a good chance that it may do it again. :(
Maybe you should consider getting a different piercing, or perhaps a small tattoo?? :)

there really isnt an estimate of time to wait. it depends on how fast you heal. but what i would do when it closes up all the way, and you get it re-pierced, make sure you clean it all the time. every day. make sure to rotate it. and it will more likely not reject it. it also might be the type of metal of the ring. try a different type.

I don't know much about this subject but Onew thing I do know the chances are good for an unsuccessful piercing I wouldn't do it because if you get it repeirced I've seen people get it repierced and start bleeding out their stomacha nd end up woth surgery to pay for . So if my button rejected it, I wouldn't do it again.

i wouldnt get it re-pierced just incase it rejects again then you will be left with scarring. If you do get it re-pierced use salt water to clean it cause it works better than antiseptics.

let it heal, it can never be re-pierced in the same place, you will likely get a keloid (scar tissue), you can have it pieced anywhere else. what about the top of the navel instead of the bottom?
