tell him. its good to establish communication up front. he is older so he will not be looking to play games like the young kids do.

No, it will probably be of some comfort to him. He's probably already nervous himself.
Be sure to meet in a public place. Make sure people know where you are. Don't be anywhere alone with him until you've passed on his personal info (confirmed by id) to someone you trust.
Lord, I hope you're at least 18.
