We are taking our cat to the vet to be spade and we have to leave her overnight for one night. I am very worried about leaving her because she sleeps with us every night. She will be locked up in a cage all by herself. Do you think she knows we will come back for her? She will wake up in her cage so confused and afraid and lonely? I know she is an animal and not a person, but I am still overly worried about her.

I think spaying is done in girls so they can't have babies. I belive they remove their ovaries.

Thanks for all your help!!

I am sure that she will be fine at the vets overnight. She will probably be with other animals in the room (of course they will all have separate cages) and the vet and vet techs will check on her regularly so she should be ok. Because she will be getting over the surgery she probably won't mind a little quiet time by herself. If you are really concerned about her still you can bring it up to the vet when you drop her off.

I had my kitten spayed last spring. Keep in mind that she'll only be there one night. I was more concerned with my kitten being in pain. I made sure the vet gave her pain meds and I made sure that someone is at the animal hospital all night. Normally there is vet tech there all night to check on the animals. Ask if you can bring something of hers to comfort her...like a blanket or something. She'll do just fine!

Spayed - not spade. A spade is a shovel or a suit on a card.

She will be just fine. She will be resting in a small confined area, as needed. You don't want her to run around and cause injury to herself. She will be processing the anesthesia nd will not be steady on her feet. This is a safe, confined area for her to sleep the meds off. the staff will give her a blanket or towel to snuggle with and offer food and water. She will be just fine - no worries!

She probably will wake up confused and lonely. But most of the vets I've worked with are good about making sure the critters have some attention. She may not understand that you'll come back for her, but she'll recover quickly once she's in her own home.

She'll be fine. She will still bea little under the weather from the anesthesia, so should sleep most of the night in her cage. And, most veterinarian offices have staff that stay overnight to watch the animals. If she gets upset, I'm sure they'll check on her and comfort her.

6 months is the suitable age to get her spayed. be careful that she does not get out of the abode till she is 'finished' even with the indisputable fact that. I observed a cat who hadn't been spayed and he or she escaped as quickly as. Suffice to assert we've 3 kittens which she gave start to 3 weeks in the past. she will't be spayed now till the kittens are weaned which would be around September and the kittens are booked in to be spayed in December/January. good success with your kitten.

Lisa, I dropped off my dog to get fixed this morning! And he's staying overnight and the thought of him waking up from surgery and me not being there is tearing me up. I have to go out of town for work tonight and won't get him until tomorrow. I'm sure your vet's office will do everything they can to make your cat feel loved and welcomed. They may be the only pet in the world to us, but the vets do this regularly. Therefore, they will show your precious pet love she deserves.

Take a blanket or something that has your scent on it so she won't feel alone. I worked in a animal hospital before and this helps. Her surgery will probably be early and she will be all drowsy and not worried about anything that day. Don't worry she'll be fine.

ANd no she wont be lonely cats are not like us humans. They dont think. And only humans would get lonely locked up in a cage. like jail.

she will be uncomfortable, nervous and anxious. many unfamiliar animals and scents there. lonely is not a word that i would use. all animals hate staying at the vets.

she will be fine, and glad to go home when the time comes. dont worry about her, you are doing something that is necessary.
