You need to watch the news a little more often. The 92,000 increase is so 5 new brigades can be formed. This will be for the OVERALL troop increase, not just for deployment to Iraq. As dumbo will be long gone by then, I'm hoping that we will have elected someone with some brains and common sense and we will have been long gone from Iraq by that time.

As for your other comments, I say right on. The situation on the Gulf Coast is a total embarrassment to us as a nation. I'm hoping that someday we will learn to help our own before we go jumping around the globe to "help" others realize our political ideology.

Every where on the planet is someone that can do something better than the person in charge. The president can not authorize a war that is up to Congress so at least appear to be intelligent and use some facts instead of flying off the handle about "proposed" plans or "proposed" ideas.

While crying about your brothers and sisters in Louisiana - what have you done for them? Were you one of the volunteers that helped out? Were you with the National Guard units that traveled hundreds on miles by truck to work 12-14 hours a day cleaning up - only to be told you took to long ? Or were you one of the ones sitting at home saying "someone has to help"?

I understand that "they" have bilked the American taxpayers out of over a BILLION dollars which we will never be able to get back. That information I got off of CNN also.

Bush should send 40,000 more soldiers into Iraq. The greater the presence of Military in Iraq the safer the military will be.

However what you have forgotten is that Bush also changed the rules of engagement. Prior to today through Dem laws and rules established while Clinton was president the US military was not allowed to fight the enemy unless the enemy had a weapon leveled and pointed at them and has already fired at them. What kind of advantage does the enemy have if the US Military member has to wait until the enemy has fired at them before he can respond.

Let me put it to you in a way that you will understand. Clinton made it so that the US military could not respond to a threat unless an American had been killed already. Bush has changed that as of last night if the US military sees a threat they can destroy that threat. This will save lives

First of all... the US Military is all volunteer and the war in Iraq has been going on long enough that everyone who signs up knows what they are getting into.
Secondly, we never had enough troops in Iraq, most of the senior military leaders will admit that.
IF we pull out it will create chaos in the region. Your remark about oil is correct, but with them having a huge portion of the oil in the world if terrorists took it over we'd be paying $10/gallon.
If your family can't find a job in Lousiana, maybe they should move.

Do some research before you have diarrhea of the mouth. Your "facts" are all off kilter.

President Bush(not just "Bush". Give the man a LITTLE respect, now...) isn't "sacrificing" any of our lives. And before you start foaming at the mouth with liberal drivel, go and talk to some servicemembers who've been there. Get the straight facts from them instead of listening to the bullsh*t put out by CNN.

The reason we keep troops over there is that this is an opportunity to attrit the insurgent forces of trained operators and materials. The more we engage and destroy them over there, the less resources they'll have to carry out attacks here, you dig? Do you really want to wake up one morning and see that a daycare center has been attacked? Give the insurgents free reign and that's exactly what will happen. They are relentless and ruthless, and do not respect the rights of others. Don't take my word for it, though; Go on over the the Middle East and find yourself some insurgents to hang out with. I'm sure they'll give you a "warm" reception.

BTW, Louisiana wan't the only place hit by Katrina. Do the names Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Pass Christian, Long Beach, Biloxi and Waveland ring a bell? Our entire coastline was wiped clean by this monster hurricane, but NOLA is the only place where the "brothers and sisters" in need exist? We in Mississippi rolled up our sleeves and got to work even as the hurricane was still moving through here, while the people of NOLA whined and sucked on that guv'mint teat. Suffering? You gotta be sh*tting me! How is living in a guv'mint subsidized apartment and spending FEMA checks on plasma screen TV's, drugs, booze, hookers and plastic surgery SUFFERING?

I think Bush is trying to hurry up and accomplish something over there before his term runs out, to try and save face. This whole "war" is an embarrassment and shows his failures.
Also, my husband says (I don't know if this is true or not) but he says that a president cannot be removed from office as long as we are at war, so Bush wants a full-scale war so he can stay in office.

He is a complete and utter moron. Why doesnt he try sending his own family members out there to get killed. We are wasting our time and our breath. Im only glad that my boyfriend survived his three deployments and now hes out of the army. And i feel for the soldiers out there and those being sent out. I dont think bush's realize that by doing all this we are all beginning to hate him. Next election he'll be outta there.

Amen Brother. Bush is BS. This country is so totally hipocritical and it's going to be the death of it. More Men and Women sent to die when they could be saving lives here in the homefront.
