I am wondering if I can claim British citizenship if both of my paternal grandparents were born in England.

I'm not sure about England, but I've been told that since my Grandparents were born in Italy, that I'm considered an Italian Citizen.

it works pretty much like us. if they are even one is alive, they could adopt you. then you would have the good fortune to call yourself a brit instead of an american melting pot cur. do it if possible. get back some human dignity and pride. perhaps i am am wrong to assume you are an unfortunate american and would like something better, but that is just the damn way i feel about the ways things have developed since ww2. this disjointed and foul culture(s) turn my stomach and wrinkles my nose. only the very young and foolish and the very wealthy enjoy this failed work of slapdash social engineering. nothing united in these states except the tax men, police and prisons. hopeless in america.

British citizenship by descent is complicated, but in general you can claim it if one of your parents was a citizen, not a grandparent. Look at this page, item c:

no you cant you need to fill out some papers to become a british citizen if you were not born there

you could get right of Abode or Ancestral visa's to work and live there but you must qualify for citizenship.

why do u wanna become a brit,it has to be the most rude place i have ever visited in the world,the people are ignorant and its a dump...full of drugs and asbo children...become irish instead it more fun...and the people talk to eachother here....
