He's a fine example of democratic leadership. With statements like that why do Democrats wonder why those in the military tend to vote republican?

He has the right to Freedom of Speech. He can say as he wishes without going to jail. I also have the right not to vote for his sorry *** the next time he comes up for election.

Although I have issues with the Guantanamo Bay treatments, I think his remarks could have been worded better. Comparing our troops to Nazi's was in extremely poor taste and could very well cost him his senate seat next election. You can only piss so many people off before they take it out on the election box. Remember our last election? I know he is thinking he is a Dem so he can ride the wave... but the wave will only take you so far.

Fortunately, we do not yet have speech crimes like some, where expressing a different idea is a crime. He should be supported in asking the hard questions. If we don't ask the right questions, we won't get good answers. If a soldier is told to terrorize civilians, should he do it? How about attacking a country that poses no threat and killing a few hundred thousand civilians?

It was reported that his so called comparison was about the mistreatment of Guantanamo's detainee. He suggested that it look like a dictatorship's reign and the treatment of detainee is what the those government, including the Nazi, did.(or that's how Yahoo!'s news spin it). With that said, there is no reason to throw him in jail for questioning the government's action(i questioned them when they tax me 30% of my paycheck too)

I think time just ran out on that banning of the first amendment... damn 2006 elections. Seriously though free speech?!?!? Anyway politicians cannot fart out of order without the media jumping all over them, a fate which some would say is worse than prison.

No, but it shows the disdain that the Kerry/Dean far left crowd has for the military. People voted him in so they reap what they sow.
