God Bless U. My heart goes out to anyone who have a member of their family in war situations in the armed forces. My baby brother was in the Persian Gulf war in the Navy on the USS Enterprise. Because he was the baby of the family and much younger than the rest of us, we all had cared for him as our son most of his life and not our brother. So it goes without saying how we all felt. To make matter worst, when he would call or write, he would let us know how 'depressing' it was. God gave me this scripture and it brought peace to my soul. If you read the Psalms 91 in it's entirety will help. This Psalms tell of the safety of those who trust and abide in God. Psalms 91:7 is the verse that He gave me in pray. It says that a thousand may fall at thy left hand and ten thousand at thy right hand but it will no come nigh thy dwelling. I applied that to my brother. Of all the people that was on that ship, from where he was standing at all times, a thousand could have fallen at his left hand and ten thousand to his right, but God would keep him safe always. I hope this helps. I will keep you all in my prayers. May God Bless U.

...How about Psalm 46, which says:
...1 GOD IS our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
...2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas,
...3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
...4 There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
...5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her right early [at the dawn of the morning].
...6 The nations raged, the kingdoms tottered and were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
...7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our Fortress and High Tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
...8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth.
...9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire.
...10 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
...11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as easgles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Take heart and God bless.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:4,5

Fear not for I am with thee. I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Not sure where that is.

My personal favorite is Psalms 139 the whole thing. Read it all. It mainly says no matter where you are I am with thee and he knows me.
