More probably the darker colour, I think ginger is on the recessive gene. I wouldnt risk it though!!!!

If I remember correctly from high school biology it would depend on if the male carries a gene for red hair.
Assuming the guy does carry a gene for red hair, that means he would either pass on the dark gene or the red gene. The female would always pass the red gene because that's all she has. So in this case 1/2 of the kids would have a dark and a red gene giving dark hair and 1/2 would have two red genes giving red hair.
Assuming the guy doesn't carry a gene for red hair, you would have 100% kids with dark hair but all would carry a red hair gene.
This is an over simplified explanation but you should get the point.

Quite a complex genetics question here. You are likely to have a child with Ginger hair as this gene is quite dominant, but it depends on the nmix of genes from each of you. The black haired partner may have a ginger gene from an earlier forebearewr and presto Ginger kids. My friends have simialr situation, he is dark haired, they had a ginger boy and a strawberry blond girl.

Are you meaning that x = male child?
I would guess that ginger hair gene is strongest.
So perhaps it is likely that any child would have ginger hair, although they may have gorgeous auburn hair.
I would think you could produce a child with either ginger, dark hair or a mix of the two colours.
I don't go along with genetically modified anything so why no just go for the lucky dip!

I am ginger haired and the father of my kids has dark brown....my two kids are strawberry blonde. I have been told that the ginger gene is most dominant over any other hair colour.

More likely dark brown as ginger is a recessive gene. No guarantee though, take into consideration the grandparents hair colours too.

It depends, briefly, ginger hair is a recessive gene, theres a chance that the male will also have the recessive gene so there's a possibility.

This all depends on many, many things. Like family genetics & everything. For example, my husband has red hair, I have dark brown, our 11 year old was blonde at birth & now has light brown hair. Our 9 year old was born with red, red hair & now he is strawberry blonde. Our 4 year old was born with brown hair, and now hes toe head blonde. And lastly our 9 month old was born with brown hair, and now her hair is darker red then her dads.
Not to mention he has blue eyes, and I hazel brown/ green. One has my eyes, one has his eyes + the blue from my grandmothers colored eyes, and 2 of our children have green/ grey/ blue eyes. Which is somewhat a combination of both our eyes.
So as you see ANYTHINGS POSSIBLE!!
