I have had friends who have done this in the past, so I don't think it is odd at all. The best man is supposed to be the grooms best friend same for maid of honor and the bride, so gender does not matter.

I don't think that this is odd at all. Actually I like the originality of it. There is nothing wrong with a Man of Honor and a Best Woman if that is what the husband to be and bride to be want, remember it is there day.

Not at all, I've never been to a wedding that had that, but I don't think its odd. Sometimes the mans best friend could be a women.

No, actually...most couples are shaking things up. Instead of all males on the groom's side and all females on the bride's side, the couple is having their best friends, male or female, on their respective sides.
This is becoming a popular trend...brides are having a Man of Honor and grooms are having a Best Woman...it is a great change to tradition and adds a personal touch.

No, it is not weird for the best man to be a woman. The term "best" means to be held in the highest degree. So the person who fulfills that post would be the person he feels best live up to the term. Be it man or wo-man.

Nowadays everything is possible at weddings.
Sure they can have a female best man or a best woman.

It's acceptable. One of my bestfriends is a guy. We have been friends for over 8 years and to be honest, I would be honored if he asked me to stand in as his Best wo-Man. It's all about wanting the person who is most supportive of you standing in that place.

When my uncle got married, his best man was a woman. They changed the name of the title to Best Friend. It's not done everyday, but it can be done.

My fiance's cousin had a man as Maid of Honor. I wonder what the correct terms would be, though?
