i'm a 56-year-old male from washington state and three weeks ago i met this awesome girl i've fallen for like a rock. but the thing is, she's 17, and i don't know if that's legal or not...anyway, her 18th birthday is in a month, and we've slept together four times at my place. i'm scared by the age difference but in no way do i wanna lose this person i feel so close to. i'm thinking about proposing soon...can you help me? i'm totally clueless about this.

Yes it's illegal that you slept with her. Statutory rape ages differ from state to state but generally they must be 18 in all states to legally sleep with someone over the age of 18.
Second, you're pathetic. Do you not understand that that girl is only with a 56 year old because either she wants out of her parents home or she thinks you have money. Either way, she will eventually decide she wants someone closer to her own age because she won't want to be seen with someone who looks 60.

I've seen how men in their 40's or 50's start acting like teenagers....
Are you sure you're not going through that?
Try to understand the inner part of yourself.
Please don't understand me wrong, you just need to understand your inner feelings to make the desicion.
It happens to some, but not totally accepted by society because lots of who go through this... turns out nothing serious.

This is not only illegal (depending on what state you are in), but sick and wrong. Does she know how old you are? Does she realize that you're just using her?
Normally, I would just leave it at this. But I'd seriously suggest some sort of psychiatric counseling or institution of some sort.
