In regards to his as-of-yet-unsigned contract with DEI, Theresa was quoted in the Wall Street Journal as saying: "Right now the ball's in his court to decide on whether he wants to be a NASCAR driver or whether he wants to be a public personality."
I guess that was what started all the hoo-hah.
I'd like to ask her ... Um, wasn't her husband a public personality? Aren't ALL the drivers public personalities? That's called fan appeal. If they weren't as visible, why would we become fans?
She shot herself in the foot with that comment, as far as I'm concerned. Jr will come out on top in this situation.

Theresa thinks she knows it all. Had Dale SR still been around, DEI would be a force to reckoned with. But JR is still green behind the ears when it comes to business. Sister is doing a good job. Her and Theresa fight more then JR.

If I understand everything I have read, heard and seen about this "feud", it is more than just a difference of a racing philosophy. Theresa and Jr. Have been at odds ever since Jr. moved in with them when he was little. She evidently did not accept him and he still feels the brunt of that rejection. I guess Theresa could also use a big dose of common sense. You do not alienate your best driver over family squabbles.

Repeat of each and each and every of the above except the only guy who apparently would not talk English or basically won't be able to type. yet, Theresa is a nonexistent proprietor, invisible. Her prescence is felt yet no human being ever sees her. And definite, i imagine she might want to love for Dale Jr. to be out of DEI yet i somewhat won't be able to be certain him leaving it (besides the actual incontrovertible fact that I really have heard the rumors that he would) because all of Dale Sr's little ones carry a stake in DEI, definite even those who do not race.

Theresa likes the money. She knows that Dale has to promote his sponsor's products but I think deep down inside she is jealous that he is getting to be very popular and that she is not "out there" anymore. After all, she is a deceased driver's widow, not much star power in that. No one is putting her on TV and interviewing her. If he leaves the company will carry on if the get a good driver. I think he should go, get out from under the umbrella of daddy's fame and go it alone.

Theresa is Dale's step mom, and his dad married her when Jr. was 6. I don't think they ever had a great relationship, and she has criticized him lately even though he made the chase last year and with a little luck might have contended for the championship.

I think it has less to do with racing and more to do with family. It's the whole step mom thing. Jr probably didn't accept her: call her Momma, since technically speaking... she's not his mom. Theresa was probably a little "disappointed that Dale Jr wouldn't call her "Mom". I've got a stepmother myself. She tells everyone she's my mother and that always "irritated" me since I've always been clear who carried me for nine months and who made sure I was fed and had clean clothes. That's who gets the Mother's Day card and presents. My step mother is my father's wife, and she gets the proper amount of respect for that. It probably chafes her a bit that I don't call her "mom". Too bad, but then I digress.
Theresa has been primarily concerned with maximizing Dale Sr's legacy. Junior's fame and popularity competes with that. She may even see him as riding on Daddy's coattails, sort of a Tommy Boy travelling at 200 mph. Junior, I think, sees Theresa as more concerned with preserving a memory than winning a title.

Theresa. This lady knows nothing about racing and has no business being involved with DEI, let alone owning it. I hope Junior leaves her out in the cold.
