I have started running as part of my excercise. I walk when i am tired and then again start running. Is there any technique in terms of position and moving your body while running?

You should run with your head up looking forward, shoulders straight (not hunched over), arms close to your side (not flung out), relaxed (you should feel your pecs bounce), your hips slightly forward of your shoulders (if you won a race, and assuming you're a guy, for lack of a better word, your "junk" would cross the line first), and your feet should strike the ground heel first and roll to your toes to push off for the next step. You should take full, rythmic breaths.

Hope this helps.

For sprinters, their form is very important to maximize speed and efficiency since less than a second can distinguish a winner and a loser. If your just doing distance runs, your body kind of finds its own "most efficient" form and everybody's form is a little different.

Some tips for efficency would be to look straight ahead not down at the ground. Keep your arms and hands loose and not tense. Try and keep your movements as smooth as possible.

Well, in order to get the most of your movements you should have long strides, your legs should like a wheel- if you have ever done high knees, butt kicks- those are excerises for your running technique. your arms should be pumping close to your body and going back and forth, if you want to go faster, then you would have to pump your arms faster- you only go as fast as your arms go my coach always told me.
