JN 14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

My more specific question is that does this means that Jesus told Philip he was God the father or was he telling Philip he was just a prophet and that God was in him.

There is only one God, but somehow there are three persons in one. Jesus is trying to explain how such a thing is possible, but neither Philip or I get it completely. So, if you've seen Christ (one of the Godhead)) you've seen God the Father (another of the Godhead).

Jesus meant to say that He was the Father. He and God are one and the same infinity being. He says if you have seen me you have seen the Father meaning He was indeed that Father. Consider this "He said "I come from God and I go back to God" and when He ascended to heavens He later met Paul on the way to damascus as the Pillar of fire/light and Paul being a learned Jew knew of that Pillar of fire or Logos and he asked "who are you Lord" because he knew he had met with God. Then aswered the Logos "I am Jesus..." Jehovah of the OT is Jesus in the NT.
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is both Son of God and son of man. Even with His human limitations, which He expresses here, He still was one with the Father. The Father was living in Him, doing His work. It is an example for us when we become believers. The Holy Spirit lives within us, and we become one with God, His children by adoption. We are in Him and they are in us, and it is only by Gods presence within us that we can do His work. It is our evidence and seal that we are His.

The vine and the branches are a good illustration. We are rooted in God. God does the work of supplying what we need to survive. His love can be described as the sap which flows through us as branches, giving us life. We bear His fruit, transferring the love to others. God uses us to produce the fruit, and He also strengthens us to bear it. The fruits can be any of the fruits of the Spirit, at any time, according to His Will. We are simply to abide in Him, and not wither, as in obstructing the life giving flow. In a sense, it is in the giving that we receive. I hope this helps.

Jesus meant that He is God coz He's the: Father, son and holy spirit.
And whoever believes in Him, and has faith that God can do anything, then he can do miracles.
Let's say, if I have faith in God, I can ask this mountain to move from this side to the other and it will by God's name!

The problem in the world today is that people are controlled by their senses. If it doesn't feel right, it's wrong. If it feels good, it's right... Our 5 senses were given to us to enjoy our environment, but not as a moral compass.

God relationship with us is in spirit. We cannot see, touch, hear, or smell, Him. It is by faith alone that we believe. Even God says in His word that it is impossible to please God without faith. So if you are trying to figure God out on an intellectual level, you will never be satisfied.

He's saying that those who believe in Jesus will be able to perform even greater miracles than he did.

"If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."
Now how's that for a big lie?

Notice verse 9: "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father."
But what about in chapter 20: "I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. "
