for women?? it's currently around 140-150#. A size 14 is the female average in the US. It's considered plus size in the clothing world. That's bc designers use a size 2 as a base. That would put it at about where I was in 7th grade. I don't really think that's considered a womanly physique!

The average American is overweight. (a little under a third of the population is obese.)
This is defined as a BMI between 25 and 29.9.
For someone who is 5'5", this would be between 150 and 180 pounds. I would put it at about 160.
However, keep in mind that you gain weight as you get older, and as the population ages, the AVERAGE weight does go up.
